Take four ordinary
guys, a parks worker, a salesman, a foreman and a retired bus driver turned
home health aid, get
them together to sing a few tunes and you have Harmonium.
Christopher
Christian is the Harmonium LEAD. His musical talents are eclectic
including over a dozen years singing with a rock and roll band.
The styles are different but his voice rings those barbershop chords
with the very best.
Dave Sheha, is a
charter member of Harmonium and as TENOR
sings a harmony higher than Chris’s melody. This is a unique feature
of barbershop singing.
Chris and Dave are the younger members of the quartet; Dan and the other
Dave admit to being older, but wiser.
Dan Benton, also
known as Dano, sings BASS for Harmonium. We recruited him when our former
bass moved to Florida. Dan has sung in several barbershop
quartets, most recently Eclipse and The Four Chordsmen
both from the Elyria Chapter. He is an 11 year member of the Barbershop
Harmony Society and has sung baritone and tenor, but his voice is best
suited for those deep bass tones.
That leaves our
other charter member of Harmonium, BARITONE Dave Irwin. He will tell you that the baritone part is the
most difficult to sing. The other three have a different opinion. He
is a lucky 13 year member of the Barbershop Harmony Society. When
he is not singing he sells specialty chemicals.
This is Harmonium, four guys from different backgrounds united in
close harmony only found in barbershop singing. We enjoy our
hobby and look forward to that time when we can come and sing for
you.
